• Stock McLaren GT vs. Huracan LP-610-4 on the 1/4 mile dragstrip

      Independent numbers are always preferred over magazines and getting such results for the McLaren GT is great to see. This is of course supposed to be the new 'Grand Touring' McLaren that is larger and more comfortable but really it offers a ton of punch.

      It's lighter than the Huracan with more power and torque. Yes, it even has a little bit more space but this is hardly your classic touring car. The engine is the M840T V8 from the 720S but detuned with smaller turbos.

      The Huracan as you will see in the video below gets better launches thanks to all wheel drive but the GT moves much faster at speed. It's kind of incredible how quickly it moves up top in comparison to the Huracan.

      The GT is car number 2 and as you can see it is indeed faster but loses the drag races due to traction off the line:

      Not too shabby of an ET for the Huracan but the trap speed is far off what magazines would have you believe.

      The GT should be an easy 9-second and 140+ car with a tune but does it make sense over a 570S? Only if you need the extra little bit of space.

        Agree. That’s got to be down to tires or driver. Don’t McLarens aunch notoriously well?
