    • Official - The new 2021 McLaren 765LT carrying 176 less pounds and 45 more horses

The leaks were correct. Say hello to the new Mclaren 765LT. Instantly you recognize the quad exhaust tips which certainly are an interesting design choice. They are there to let you know this is no standard McLaren 720S but the new 765LT or Long Tail.

Power is up to 765 as the name implies. 80 kilograms are stripped out. The M840T engine gets new pistons and new tuning.

How did they strip out weight? Carbon fiber everything. The seats, front splitter, bumper, side skirts, wing, and diffuser. You can even get the door in carbon fiber along with the fenders and bonnet.

McLaren also went to thinner and lighter glass. Combine that with a titanium exhaust and you get your 80 kilograms. Oh, don't forget the lightweight lithium-ion battery.

If you really want to get hardcore with it you can have the airconditioning and stereo removed but that hardly seems necessary.

It is a limited edition and going to cost a pretty penny but the winners may be those who want a 720S as the prices should get pushed down by the 765LT. Either way, say hello to the new benchmark.

Thinner glass while they already have issues with the windshields cracking because of hard turns. Hopefully they fixed that issue. Not sure about how long it is but the car looks really good though.

Mclaren is the only company pretty much that only cares about performance and not keeping resale value for their customers.
It looks so similar to the 720s.

Well it is just a tweaked 720S.

No doubt the guys who need to have the latest and greatest are lining up but I'd happily take a much cheaper 720S with a tune.

The performance will no doubt be otherworldly but visually this isn't as good a departure from the base model as the 650 to 675. But it does nothing lower my levels of want, lol.

Also, i wonder why no direct injection from such a technology forward brand.

Because it's a performance hindrance, not benefit. The technology is primarily for fuel efficiency which is why modern direct injected performance engines are adding port injection.
