    • McLaren to produce a GT (Grand Tourer) but not in the traditional sense - New mid-engine McLaren GT

There are well known high performance luxury GT (Grand Touring) cars on the market. The Ferrari 812 Superfast, Aston Martin DB11, Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe, the Bentley Continental GT, and of course the upcoming BMW M8. What do all of those cars have in common?

A front engine layout. McLaren apparently is tossing out the traditional GT layout and building a mid-engine GT. Does that really make sense?

Well, the idea of a four-door coupe still does not make sense to us yet everybody is doing it.

This is essentially going to be a bigger, spacious, heavier, and more luxurious McLaren. A model going completely in the opposite direction of what makes McLarens so desirable but clearly they want to bolster sales numbers with the older crowd that does not put a premium on performance.

If anyone can get this formula right, it's McLaren.

        Fixed, thanks.

Another mid-engine turbo V8 from McLaren though?

Ferrari has something nobody else does with a high revving front engine naturally aspirated V12. Give me the 812 all day.
