Really good 60 for R888Rs. Wonder if wheel hop has been a problem.

With R888r the grip was the problem, very little hop a couple of times. Not gonna lie it became frustrating after the first day trying to get the car into the 8s and not be able to get a good grip, but after seeing a few 720s with a more appropriate tire setup for the 1/4 mile, having wheel hop issues and breaking an axle, We kept the struggle going, until finally we got just enough power to not break the tires lose before the 330 and increased the juice on top to make up for the bottom section.

The biggest advantage is the turbos and over killing it with fuel, its the possibility to dial the curve in as you need it, efficiently without pushing much beyond what a normal stage 2 request to the ECU. Took us way over twenty low 9s runs before we got it just right, so keeping the boost under 22psi as insurance plus the high octane fuel seems to be a solid reliable recipe, very afraid to find out limits of such expensive engine/drivetrain ... Almost with full confidence I dare to say, with a better tire setup than 20in r888, is very possible to shave another 0.2s of the time without having to increase boost. But lets see how many days go by before someone else knocks down the record.

So it’s a boost limited in 1st and possibly 2nd with 3rd & 4th getting the full beans?

That is exactly what is being done right now

@kbaldi29 any thoughts on a smaller rear brake setup so you could get some smaller wheels on there and thus tires with more sidewall?

its easier on other cars because they have lower-end models with smaller brakes that can fit but not sure how that would work with McLaren.

More than likely you would need to collaborate with an aftermarket braking parts company, you could likely get the parts at cost.
