    • Fabspeed McLaren 720S M840T ECU tune results - 102 lb-ft of torque gained at the wheels

The McLaren 720S is already a rocket in stock form but if you want more (why wouldn't you?) an ECU tune is the best bang for the buck performance upgrade followed by a full exhaust. Fabspeed happens to offer both.

The test car is already running the Fabspeed cat bypass pipes and LT Style exhaust system. This means that with the car pushing more air the exhaust will not be as restrictive as the OEM design. Ultimately this means lower exhaust gas temps and less backpressure.

You will notice major torque gains with the tune as early as 3000 rpm:

A big chunk of area is picked up from 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm but gains holds through the entire curve until redline.

Now, previous Dynojet baselines from Fabspeed showed the 720S in the upper 690 wheel horsepower range. It is important to focus on the delta here but it looks like Fabspeed may have updated their dyno software. BoostAddict will ask Fabspeed for clarification.

As for the difference between stock and tuned, another 104whp and 142ft-lbs at 3800 rpm means we are talking night and day figures here.

How anyone with a 720S can resist unlocking all that power hiding in the factory software is something we do not understand. A tune should be the first thing on the mind of a 720S owner. Followed by an exhaust. Or vice versa. Ultimately both unlock the potential of the 720S.

Correct me if Im wrong but this gain is beyond impressive if its true. I dont think any other tuner at this level yet.

It's a very nice gain. You have a handful of tuners showing large gains right now.

The 720S is just getting going.
